pucknyc asked:

Hi –
I paid a deductible to my doctor after an office visit. When my insurance company processed the claim, it turned out the doctor was in network, and I was only responsible for the co-payment. The doctor claims that the insurance company never took her off the network, while the insurance company claims she never sent the termination letter. I’m inclined to believe the insurance company b/c the Dr’s office has been bad about returning calls and resolving this situation while the insurance company has been trying to get them to return my money. Has anyone ever dealt with this situation? What are the steps I can take to get my money back? I paid with credit card and this money is legally owed me. The doctor’s office has been giving me the runaround for over a month.

Thanks.
